PURCHASE, N.Y. – In a rematch of last year's Skyline Conference championship match, the Yeshiva University men's tennis team knocked off Purchase College, 8-1, at the Purchase College Tennis Courts on Wednesday evening. The Maccabees advance to 4-0 in Skyline play (8-5 overall), and have now won 27 consecutive conference matches.
Competing on outdoor courts for the first time since the fall season did not slow down the Maccabees' momentum. Yeshiva won two out of three doubles flights over Purchase (2-5, 2-3 Skyline) and was victorious in all six singles matches, without losing a single set.
Freshman
Dor Gutterman teamed with senior
Charlie Friedman to earn a convincing win at the second doubles position, 8-1. Junior
Mikey Ozery and sophomore
Avidan Rudansky did not lose a single game at #3 doubles.
In singles, junior
Adam Rosemblaum won both sets in the first position by identical 6-2 scores. Ozery was victorious at #2 singles, 6-1, 6-3. Gutterman won both sets in the third position, 6-1, 6-4, while sophomore
Lior Brik won at #4 singles, 6-1, 6-2. Friedman dominated at #5 singles, 6-0, 6-1, while Rudansky was victorious in the sixth singles position, 6-1, 6-4.
