BETHPAGE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's cross country team opened the 2018 season by competing in the Adelphi University Panthers Invitational, at Bethpage State Park, on Friday afternoon. The Maccabees did not score as a team, but three individuals competed in 5k race.
Leading the way for the Maccabees was senior
Ayelet Itzhak, as she completed the race in 26:44.90, and averaged 8:36 per mile. The next Yeshiva runner to cross the finish line was first-year runner
Sarah Russman, who ran the race in 30:59.40. Rounding it out for the Maccabees was senior
Shira Perton, who crossed the finish line at 32:46.20.
The Maccabees will compete in the Baruch College Invitational on Sunday, September 9, at Van Cortlandt Park. The women's 6k race is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
