NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's soccer team dropped its season opener to The City College of New York, 8-0, on Randall's Island Field 83 on Friday afternoon. The Beavers advance to 1-0, while the Maccabees drop to 0-1.
CCNY scored four goals in the opening half, and then added four more in the final 45 minutes of the match. The visiting team had a balanced scoring attack, as Gabrielle Duchaussee, Ingrid Rosario, and Susan Aracena each scored a pair of goals. Aracena also registered a pair of assists, while Daniela Grisales-Agudelo scored a goal and added two helpers.
For the Maccabees, sophomore goalkeeper
Rivka Lindenblatt made eight saves, while junior
Gabriella Chutter stopped nine shots in relief. Senior midfielder
Nicole Bick and freshman defender
Tamara Kahn each produced a shot on goal.
Yeshiva will be back in action on Sunday, for a non-conference match against Green Mountain College. The match will take place at the Aviator Sports and Events Center, beginning at 12:30 p.m.
