FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's tennis team dropped a non-conference contest to John Jay College, 6-3, on the Queens College Tennis Courts on Tuesday evening. Yeshiva falls to 0-2, while the defending CUNY Athletic Conference tournament champions start the season off with a victory.
The Bloodhounds won two out of three doubles matches, and were victorious in four out of six singles flights.
Yeshiva's lone doubles win came from the team of junior
Bailey Frohlich and sophomore
Leora Moskowitz by a score of 8-3. In singles play, sophomore
Shana Adler won the super tiebreaker to clinch a thrilling #2 singles victory, 7-6, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6). Moskowitz came back to win the third singles flight, 6-4, 6-3.
The Maccabees will open up Skyline Conference play on Friday against St. Joseph's College Brooklyn. First serve at the Cary Leeds Center, in the Bronx, is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.
