BRONX, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's tennis was narrowly defeated by St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 5-4, in the Skyline Conference opener at the Cary Leeds Center on Friday afternoon.
Sophomore
Alexandra Huberfeld and senior
Sarah Hiller combined forces to win at No. 2 doubles, 8-3.
Huberfeld came back to earn a dominating win at the fourth singles position, 6-1, 6-1. Hiller won the sixth flight, and did not drop a single game in the process.
Newcomer
Leora Moskowitz earned a hard-fought victory at No. 2 singles. The Teaneck resident dropped the first set in a tiebreaker 7-6 (4), but then earned convincing wins in the next two frames, 6-1, 6-1, to tally her second singles victory of the year.
Yeshiva will travel to Sarah Lawrence College, on Thursday, for a Skyline match against the Gryphons. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
