Men's Soccer Suffers Loss to USMMA

KINGS POINT, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's soccer team suffered a Skyline Conference loss to the United States Merchant Marine Academy, 4-1, at Brooks Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Mariners advance to 10-6-1 overall (7-3-1 Skyline), while the Maccabees drop to 2-10-1 for the season (0-9-1 Skyline).

Junior forward Isaac Bendahan scored Yeshiva's lone goal of the afternoon, as he headed the ball into the net off a pass from freshman forward Refael Minsky during the 81st minute. That narrowed the Mariners' lead to 4-1 but that ended up being the final score.

USMMA scored three of its four goals in the opening half, including the match-winner by sophomore midfielder David Kelly in the 33rd minute that gave the home team a 2-0 advantage.

For the afternoon, USMMA had the edge in shots, 24-18. Yeshiva had the advantage in corner kicks, 7-6.

Junior goalkeeper Sagi Badash made seven saves for the Maccabees, while senior goalkeeper Matthew Milner made six saves to earn the win in net.

Yeshiva will host Skyline rival Mount Saint Vincent, on Tuesday evening, at Veteran's Field Park beginning at 7:00 p.m.
