MILTON, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's cross country team participated in the Skyline Conference Championships, at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome, on Thursday afternoon. The Maccabees finished in seventh place with 214 points. The United States Merchant Marine Academy earned the Skyline Conference Championship for the second year in a row.
Yeshiva's top finisher was sophomore
Estee Brooks, who was the 23
rd runner (out of 94 participants) to complete the 6k race, with a time of 28:40.84. The Denver native averaged 7:41.6 per mile.
First-year runner
Sophia Ostrowiak Ventura finished 46
th overall, crossing the finish line at 32:19.91. Junior
Leeba Goldenhersh was the 59
th runner to complete the race, finishing with a time of 34:37.82. Rookie
Yael Evgi earned 63
rd overall, as she ran the 3.7-mile race in 35:22.62.
Rounding out the Yeshiva participants were junior
Rachel Retter (36:24.64) and first-year runner
Esther Vidal (37:23.78).
Yeshiva will compete in the Nick Russo Halloween Classic, at Branch Brook Park, on Sunday. The 5k race is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.
