NEW YORK – The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team suffered a hard-fought non-conference loss to Pratt Institute, in straight sets, on Thursday evening. Set scores were 25-10, 25-17, and 25-16.
Leading the way for the Maccabees (0-17) was junior outside hitter
Rebekah Bargraser, who produced a match-high 11 digs on the defensive end, while adding a pair of kills and two service aces. Senior middle blocker
Tehilla Teigman generated five digs, produced a pair of blocks, and had a solid match offensively with two kills on the attack. Junior setter
Brooke Ratner had six digs and two kills.
Pratt (8-6) never trailed at any point during the match. After the Cannoneers took the first set and jumped out to an 18-11 advantage in the second game, Yeshiva answered with a 4-0 run to pull to within three. The visiting team countered with a 7-2 run to finish the stanza and go up 2-0 in the match.
In the third set, YU fell behind by a score of 19-10. A service ace by Bargraser highlighted a 6-1 Macs' run to narrow Pratt's lead to 20-16. However, the Cannoneers scored the last five points to clinch the game and win the match.

Julie Chase scored a pair of aces and recorded three digs. Senior right side hitter
Batya Schreier contributed on defense with four digs. Sophomore middle blocker
Rena Kahn and first-year right side hitter
Ayelet Berger each had a dig, with the former adding an assist.
Yeshiva will conclude the season on Sunday, with a non-conference matchup against City College, at the ARC Arena. First serve is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. It will be Senior Day as Yeshiva University will honor its women's volleyball graduating seniors, Berger, Teigman, and Schreier with a ceremony prior to the match.
