Graduate middle blocker Adam Gerszberg had five kills and just as many digs, while sophomore opposite hitter Derek Orenshein had a solid match on defense with six digs and three blocks, while registering a pair of kills.

Brooklyn (3-5) had a large lead for most of the opening game. After falling behind, 24-14, back-to-back service aces by Rubin capped off a 4-0 run to pull YU to within six. However, the Bulldogs clinched the set thanks to a kill by junior middle blocker Gabriel Pjatak.

Yeshiva got off to a quick start in the second stanza, as a kill by sophomore outside hitter Joseph Sulaymanov gave the Maccabees a 3-0 advantage. Brooklyn rallied to jump out in front. Later in the set, a kill by Rubin was the first of two straight points for YU to pull the visiting team to within one, at 13-12. Brooklyn went on an 8-5 run to go up, 21-17. The Maccabees would not go down without a fight, as a kill by Gerszberg capped off a 5-0 run to allow Yeshiva to jump out in front, 22-21. Gerszberg would execute another successful attack to allow YU to regain a one-point lead after Brooklyn tied it. However, the Bulldogs scored the next three points to clinch the game and go up, 2-0, in the match.

Brooklyn stormed out to an 8-3 advantage in game number three. The Maccabees had a few rallies in the set but could not catch up to the Bulldogs. Rubin slammed home a kill to pull the Blue and White to within four, at 22-18. Once again, Brooklyn ended the set on a 3-0 run to clinch the match-victory.
