EDGEWATER, N.J. – In a battle of defending conference champions, the Yeshiva University men's tennis team earned a hard-fought win over Baruch College by a score of 6-3, at the Binghamton Racquet Club, on Thursday evening. The Maccabees advance to 3-3, while the Bearcats drop to 0-3.
The defending Skyline champion Maccabees won two out of three doubles flights over the reigning CUNYAC champions and went 4-2 in singles play.

Mikey Ozery and freshman
Amram Wahnon earned a victory at the second doubles position, 8-4. Later in the match, Wahnon picked up another victory, this time at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 7-5. Junior

Jeremy Brody earned a close victory at the third doubles flight, 8-6.
Freshman
Aaron Cohen earned a tight two-set victory at the second singles position, 7-5, 6-4. Junior
Lior Brik won at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-4. Classmate
Yoni Sacknovitz officially clinched the victory for the Maccabees, by winning a thrilling No. 6 singles matchup in the third-set tiebreaker. Set scores were 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5).
"I'm proud of these guys," Yeshiva University head coach
Jon Rubinstein said. "This team (Baruch) might go to the NCAA tournament and we competed very well against them, today. They are always a very tough team for us to play and we got a lot of the close matches today because we fought well. We had players like Amram and Lior who really stepped up and helped us with this win."
Yeshiva will take on another elite CUNYAC team on Sunday, when the Maccabees host the Hawks of Hunter College, at the Binghamton Racquet Club. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
