BRONX, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's tennis team fell to regionally-ranked No. 14 New York University, 9-0, at the Stadium Tennis Center, on Thursday evening. The Violets advance to 5-4, while the Maccabees drop to 10-7.
First-year players
Amram Wahnon and
Samuel Edery won a pair of games at No. 1 doubles. Freshman
Aaron Cohen and classmate
Meir Melamed was victorious in one game at No. 2 doubles, while freshman
Jeremy Brody and junior
Yoni Sacknovitz took a game in the third flight.
In singles play, Cohen won a game in the first set, and three in the second, at the first position. Wahnon claimed a game in the second set at No. 2 singles, while Brody took two games in the second set of the fourth flight. Melamed won a game in each of the two sets at No. 6 singles.
Yeshiva will resume Skyline play on Sunday, with a matchup at St. Joseph's College Long Island, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
