NEW YORK, N.Y. – This week's Yeshiva University Student-Athletes of the Week are sophomore
Chana Boltax of the softball team, and freshman
Aaron Cohen of the men's tennis program.
Boltax helped lead the Maccabees to two wins against York College (N.Y.), this past Tuesday. She pitched a complete-game in the second end of the doubleheader for her first collegiate victory in the circle. In that same game, Boltax went 2-for-3, including an RBI single, while drawing a walk and scoring a run. In game one, the Rockville native scored three runs, stole just as many bases, and singled.
Cohen led the Maccabees to a pair of Skyline wins, this week. The rookie phenom won every game at both the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles positions at St. Joseph's College Long Island, on Sunday. He continued YU's momentum by winning at No. 1 doubles, as well as the second singles flight, against Merchant Marine, on Tuesday. Thanks to his strong play, the Maccabees clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Skyline Conference Championships.
