BROOKLYN - The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team fell in its Skyline Conference match to St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, in straight sets at The Hill Center, on Thursday evening. Set scores were 25-8, 25-14, and 25-15.
The Bears (2-2, 1-0 Skyline) led from wire-to-wire in each of the first two sets. The Maccabees (0-6, 0-2 Skyline) improved in the third stanza as a kill by senior middle blocker
Tehilla Teigman highlighted a 5-0 run for YU to put the visiting team up, 6-3. After St. Joseph's tied the set, Teigman once again scored a kill to put the Macs back in front.
Later in the game, the Bears went on a 9-1 run to take a commanding 17-9 advantage. The Maccabees countered, as a kill by Teigman sparked a 5-1 run to pull YU to within four, at 18-14. However, St. Joseph's scored seven of the set's last eight points to clinch the game and the match.
For Yeshiva, Teigman led all players with eight kills and added seven digs. Senior right side hitter
Ayelet Berger had a strong match defensively, leading all players with 10 digs, while junior outside hitter
Rebekah Bargraser added a pair of kills and four digs. Senior right side hitter
Batya Schreier produced six assists with three digs, while sophomore right side hitter
Maya Rosen added a pair of digs of her own. Junior setter

Rena Kahn contributed defensively, with five and four digs respectively. Junior right side hitter
Julie Chase had an ace, an assist, and a pair of digs.
The Maccabees will host a tri-match, on Sunday, at the ARC Arena. Yeshiva will battle Skyline rival Mount Saint Vincent at 12:00 p.m., and then play Cooper Union at 4:00 p.m.
