BRONX - The Yeshiva University women's cross country team competed in the Br. John "Paddy" Doyle Meet of Champions, hosted by Iona College, at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday morning. The majority of the institutions that Yeshiva competed against were Division I and Division II programs. YU was one of just two Division III schools that participated.
The Maccabees finished 15
th overall with 499 points.
Leading the way for Yeshiva was sophomore
Estee Brooks, as she completed the 5k race in just 22:25.6. First-year runner
Rachel Retter crossed the finish line at the 28:27.8 mark. Junior
Leeba Goldenhersh finished the race in 29:29.2, while classmate
Yael Evgi crossed the finish line less than a minute later. Junior
Elisheva Rosensweig completed her run in 31:07.2, while senior
Amanda Kasztl rounded out the Yeshiva runners by running the race in 33:53.1.
The Maccabees will return to Van Cortlandt Park on Sunday, for the York College (N.Y.) Invitational. The women's race will begin at 10:00 a.m.
