PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team dropped its Skyline Conference match to Purchase College in straight sets, at the Purchase College Gymnasium, on Thursday evening. Set scores were 25-13, 25-8, and 25-9.
The Panthers (2-10, 1-7 Skyline) led from wire-to-wire in each of the three games.
Leading the way for the Maccabees (0-5, 0-5 Skyline) was rookie outside hitter
Shira Sredni who slammed home three kills and had a strong match defensively with five digs. Sophomore defensive specialist
Ashley Botnick recorded a match-high eight digs. Classmate
Keren Raskin had a solid performance both offensively and defensively with five assists and four digs.
Senior outside hitter
Rebekah Bargraser generated a kill, a service ace, and five digs. First-year middle blocker
Hannah Aaron scored a pair of kills, while junior setter
Tali Miller had a successful attack, one dig, and two assists.
For Purchase, junior outside hitter Pamella Gonzalez led all players with eight kills and anchored the defense with seven digs.
The Maccabees will host a tri-match, at the Max Stern Athletic Center, on Sunday. Yeshiva will battle Baruch College at 11:00 a.m. and then clash with Skyline foe St. Joseph's College Long Island at 3:00 p.m.
