BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team fell in its Skyline match to St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, in straight sets, at the Hill Center on Sunday afternoon. Set scores were 25-11, 25-11, and 25-7.
Yeshiva (0-10, 0-9 Skyline) had a brief lead in the third set, but St. Joseph's College Brooklyn (5-9, 3-6 Skyline) led from wire-to-wire in each of the first two sets.
Leading the way for YU was sophomore outside hitter
Ashley Botnick who had a match-high seven digs. Senior outside hitter
Rebekah Bargraser slammed home three kills, scored a service ace, and had six digs. Sophomore libero
Aleesa Elbaum had a strong match defensively with five digs and scored an ace, while classmate
Hannah Aaron tallied three kills, a service ace, and a dig. Sophomore setter
Keren Raskin had a solid match five assists, three digs, a pair of aces, and a kill. Senior outside hitter
Maya Rosen recorded two digs, while classmate
Sarina Hilowitz, junior middle blocker
Devorah Batt, and first-year right side hitter
Emily Zrihen each had one. Sophomore defensive specialist
Zoey Botnick added an assist and a dig of her own.
Yeshiva will take on Farmingdale State College, at the Nold Hall Athletic Complex, on Tuesday evening. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
