DIX HILLS, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team suffered a hard-fought loss to Five Towns College, in straight sets, at the Five Towns College Gymnasium on Tuesday evening. Set scores were 25-14, 25-5, and 25-11.
The Sound (6-8) never trailed at any point in the match.
Yeshiva (0-14) had a strong match defensively, producing 47 digs as a team.
Hannah Aaron had a team-high 13 digs, while slamming home a kill.
Shira Sredni led all players with seven kills and helped neutralize the opposing team's attack with nine digs.
Ashley Botnick helped anchor the defense with a career-high 10 digs.
Zoey Botnick notched nine digs, had a team-high four assists, and scored a kill.
Tali Miller had a pair of assists and recorded just as many digs.
Aleesa Elbaum produced four digs and nailed a service ace.
Sarina Hilowitz tallied an assist, while
Suzanne Wallach had five attacks.
For Five Towns, Emily Angelastro led all players with 14 digs and scored a match-high 12 service aces. Jana Hunt had 10 digs, while Hailey Neumann slammed home six kills.
Yeshiva will take on York College N.Y., at York College Gymnasium, on Thursday evening. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
