BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's tennis team got back on the winning track on Monday, defeating Sarah Lawrence College by a score of 7-0. With the win, the Maccabees clinch a berth in the upcoming Skyline Conference Championships.
The match started on Wednesday, April 28, at the Purchase College Tennis courts but was suspended due to rain. The match concluded on Monday, May 3, at the Sarah Lawrence College Tennis Courts.
"Good win by the team," Yeshiva University Head Coach
Jon Rubinstein said. "It was good to see everyone contributing. Even though it is late in the season it still feels early. It is good that we are seeing improvements from match to match.
In doubles play, junior
Aaron Cohen and sophomore Jonathan Mayer earned the win at No. 1 spot, 8-1. Sophomore
Anthony Lallouz and junior
Jonah Loskove combined forces to take the second doubles flight, 8-0. Senior
Eitan Jeselsohn and classmate
Dylan Ohayon won the third doubles position via a walkover.
In singles play, Mayer won at the third position, 6-1, 6-0. Ohayon won every game in both sets at the fourth flight. Junior
Michael Froehlich earned the win at No. 5 singles, 8-0. Loskove claimed the No. 6 position due to a walkover.
Yeshiva will conclude the regular season with a Skyline matchup against the United States Merchant Marine Academy, out in Kings Point, N.Y., on Tuesday afternoon. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
