FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's cross country team opened the 2021 season at the Adelphi Panthers XC Invite, on Friday afternoon, at Bethpage State Park. As a team, Yeshiva finished 14
th overall with 391 points.
Leading the way for the Maccabees was junior Yuval Nitzan (105
th overall) as she crossed the finish line at 28:48, averaging 9:15 per mile over the course of the 3.1-mile race.
First-year runner
Elisheva Miller ran the 5k event in 29:16 (9:24 per mile) and finished in 107
th place. Junior
Olivia Schwartz was the third Maccabee to finish (113
th overall), as she ran the course in 30:28. Classmate
Hilda Roffe (118
th overall at 31:08) and junior
Esther Miller (119
th overall at 31:39) rounded out the runners for Yeshiva.
The Maccabees will compete in the Mount Saint Mary College XC Series, at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome, on Sunday. The race is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
