Softball Unable to Overcome Slow Starts Against Manhattanville College

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University softball team dropped both ends of its Skyline Conference doubleheader against Manhattanville College, by identical scores of 9-0, at the Manhattanville College Softball Field on Sunday afternoon.

The Valiants (5-9, 2-0 Skyline) scored all nine of their runs in the opening inning during each contest. The Maccabees (0-6, 0-2 Skyline) held the opposition scoreless for the remaining four frames during both ends of the doubleheader.

In game one, junior Emily Zrihen produced a single at the plate and pitched five innings in the circle for the Macs. Rookie Samantha Walsh earned the shutout victory for Manhattanville.

In game two, junior Yael Dannenbaum reached base with a single. Classmate Elisheva Miller worked a walk. In the circle, Zrihen tossed five more innings. Freshman Emily Mottoshiski picked up the win for the Valiants, pitching five shutout innings.
