EDGEWATER, N.J. – The Yeshiva University softball team opened the 2022 season with a pair of losses to Baruch College, by scores of 26-0 and 24-1, at Veterans Field Park on Tuesday evening.
In the opening game, graduate student
Miriam Kazlow drew a walk at the plate for YU (0-2). In the circle, she struck out four Baruch (4-0) batters in five innings pitched.
In game two, junior
Yael Dannenbaum went 1-for-2 with a single and scored a run. Classmate
Emily Zrihen also had a single, while sophomore
Shai Rahamim drove in a run. Rookie
Ashley Botnick drew a walk. Making her collegiate debut in the circle, Rahamim pitched a complete game and recorded a strikeout.
Yeshiva will take on John Jay College, at Veterans Field Park, on Sunday. Time of first pitch is to be announced.
