PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's tennis team won its second Skyline match in as many days, on Monday afternoon, defeating St. Joseph's College Long Island by a score of 9-0 at the SJC Outdoor Field Complex. The Maccabees remain undefeated in league play, advancing to 3-0, while bumping their overall record to 5-2. The Golden Eagles are now 0-3 in the conference and 0-6 overall.
The Macs won every game in doubles play.
Graduate student
Tomer Mendler and senior
Eli Hanuka won every game in both singles and doubles play. They teamed up to win the first doubles flight. Mendler also won at the first singles position, while Hanuka claimed the fourth singles flight.
Sophomores
Akiva Ackerman and
Joshua Deutsch earned a convincing win at No. 2 doubles. Deutsch came back to win all 12 games over the course of two sets at the sixth flight, which clinched the team win for the Maccabees.
Seniors
Aaron Singer and
Michael Froehlich were victorious at the third doubles position. Singer's victory at No. 2 singles (6-0, 6-3) capped off the sweep for the Blue and White. Froehlich won every game at No. 5 singles.
Sophomore
Joseph Abrahams earned the victory at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Yeshiva will have a road non-conference match against Ramapo College on Monday, April 25. First serve at the Ramapo College Tennis Courts is set for 4:00 p.m.
