RIDGEFIELD, N.J. - The Yeshiva University softball team fell in both games to SUNY Old Westbury, 16-0 and 9-0, at Overpeck Park on Wednesday evening.
Leading the way for the Maccabees (0-19, 0-12 Skyline) was junior
Shai Rahamim who pitched 10 innings during the twin bill and struck out four batters. In the bottom of the first inning in game two, junior
Esther Miller slapped the ball past the pitcher's mound for an infield single. Sophomore
Kyra Appel caught a popup at first base during the top of the fifth inning in game one, while junior
Chana Fischer fielded a ground ball and stepped on third base for the force out during the opening inning of game two.
In game one, junior Gianna Dilillo pitched a perfect game for the Panthers (7-17, 7-5 Skyline) as she struck out eight batters in five innings pitched. In game two, senior Christina Hassett struck out 11 YU batters, and gave up just one hit, to earn her third victory of the season.Â
Yeshiva will take on Sarah Lawrence College, at Mary Levine Field, on Thursday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.Â
