BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University softball team dropped both ends of its Skyline Conference doubleheader to Sarah Lawrence College, 17-2 and 13-2, at Mary Levine Field on Thursday afternoon.
In the opening game, The Gryphons (2-16, 2-12 Skyline) scored ten runs in the opening inning and never looked back. The Maccabees (0-21, 0-14 Skyline) scored both of their runs in the top of the fourth inning. Junior

Yael Dannenbaum to put the Macs on the board. Later in the inning, junior
Elisheva Miller was able to score from third on a throw to second base for Yeshiva's second run of the game. It would not be enough as the Gryphons claimed the win.
For the Maccabees,
Elisheva Miller and Dannenbaum each drew a walk.
For the Gryphons, senior Bailey Nguyen pitched three scoreless and hitless innings to earn her first victory of the season. Classmate Alison Thorson drilled a three-run home run.
In game two, Sarah Lawrence scored multiple runs in each of its four innings at bat. The Macs' bats came to life in the top of the third, as junior
Esther Miller drilled an RBI single down the right field line that scored sophomore
Shayna Kahane to put the Blue and White on the board. In the top of the fifth, Dannenbaum rifled an RBI single to right that scored rookie
Tova Hakakian for the Macs' second run of the contest. However, the Gryphons went on to earn the sweep.
For Yeshiva, Dannenbaum went 2-for-2 and had a walk.
Esther Miller went 2-for-3, while Hakakian and Kahane each earned a base on balls.
For Sarah Lawrence, Nguyen pitched a complete game and earned her second victory of the afternoon.
Yeshiva will host College of Mount Saint Vincent, in a Skyline doubleheader at Overpeck Park, on Friday morning. First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
