PATCHOGUE, N.Y. - The Yeshiva University women's tennis team fell in its Skyline Conference match to St. Joseph's University Long Island, 8-1, at the SJNY Outdoor Field Complex on Thursday evening.
Leading the way for thr Maccabees (1-2, 1-2 Skyline) was rookie sensation
Sarah Leiderman, who was victorious in her No. 6 singles flight, 6-2, 6-3. The Cedarhurst native is now 2-1 in singles play this year.
The Golden Eagles (1-1, 1-0 Skyline) swept the doubles competition and went 5-1 in singles matches to secure the conference victory.
Yeshiva will have a busy day on Sunday as they will finish its Skyline match against Purchase College that was suspended last week due to the weather. The conference contest will resume at 10:00 a.m. at the Lehman College Tennis Courts. Then, the Maccabees will take on the host-Lightning, in a non-conference battle, shortly after their match against the Panthers concludes.
