Women’s Volleyball Falls At Manhattanville

HARRISON, NY - Competing in their penultimate road conference match, the Yeshiva women's volleyball team were downed by Manhattanville College, losing to the Valiant by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday, Oct 24.

Offensively, the Maccabees were helmed by Charne Lesnoy and Ashley Botnick, with Lesnoy notching two kills while Botnick led the team with four assists.

Ashley Botncik also had an excellent night on the defensive end of the ball, teaming up with her twin sister Zoey Botnick to put up a combined 17 kills between the two of them.

With the loss, the Macs are now 0-10, 0-9 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Struggling early on, the Macs were simply outplayed in the first set, falling, 25-1.

  • Showing more signs of life in set number two, Yeshiva managed to keep the contest closer, trailing by just four at 6-2. While the Macs notched their first kill of the night at 15-5, it was not enough to overcome Manhattanville's overwhelming offense, with Yeshiva ultimately dropping the set, 25-8.

  • Much like the first two, the Macs found themselves trailing by a significant margin early on in the third set, seeing the scoreboard read 15-4 halfway through the period. While a late 5-3 run from Yeshiva sparked some hopes of a Mac comeback, those aspirations were quickly put to bed when Manhattanville secured the final two points and took the set, 25-11.
