JERSEY CITY – The Yeshiva University men's volleyball team dropped its Skyline Conference match to New Jersey City University in straight sets, at John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center, on Tuesday evening. Set scores were 25-10, 25-5, and 25-7.
The Gothic Knights (10-7, 3-2 Skyline) won the first two sets in wire-to-wire fashion. The Maccabees (4-11, 1-5 Skyline) scored the first point of the third game, but NJCU then scored seven unanswered points to take control, on its way to the Skyline victory.
Leading the way for the Maccabees was senior outside hitter
Benjamin Smillie who anchored the defense with 10 digs. First-year setter
Eidan Horn provided six digs and five assists. Junior middle blocker
Lavi Friedman also had six digs, while adding a kill and a block. Senior outside hitter
Shmuel Aberman recorded four digs, slammed home a kill, and had a block.
Yeshiva will host Ramapo College, in a conference battle at Max Stern Athletic Center, on Thursday evening. The first serve is set for 7:30 p.m.
