Softball Drops Two Skyline Games to Farmingdale State College

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University softball team fell in both ends of its Skyline Conference doubleheader to Farmingdale State College, 14-0 and 10-0, at Farmingdale State Softball Stadium on Friday afternoon.

Yeshiva's (2-27, 0-16 Skyline) lone hit of the afternoon came off the bat of senior center fielder Kayla Cagan who drilled a single down the left field line in the top of the fourth inning of game two. Senior first-base player Elisheva Miller reached first on a fielder's choice for YU's second base runner.

In game one, the Rams (23-8, 15-1 Skyline) scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back. Senior pitcher Allie Stanya pitched a perfect game and struck out 11 batters.

The Rams added four runs in the opening inning of game two to take the lead for good. In the circle, sophomore pitcher Ava Shorr fanned 10 YU batters in five innings pitched to earn the complete-game victory.

Yeshiva will conclude the 2023 season with a Skyline doubleheader against Mount Saint Mary College, at Bahoshy Field, on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m. It will be Alumni Day as student-athletes from Yeshiva University softball teams of the past will play in an alumni game prior to the conference doubleheader.
