THROGGS NECK, N.Y. - Effectively gumming up a usually efficient offense, the Yeshiva women's soccer team were defeated by Skyline rival Maritime College, losing to the Privateers by a score of 5-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
With the loss, the Maccabees are 0-5 on the season, 0-5 in conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing by just three at halftime, the Maccabee defense kept a potent Maritime attack at bay. The Macs allowed just two more goals in the second half, a season low for the side.
- Goalkeeper Maayan Berkowitz once again put in an excellent performance for Yeshiva. Facing down 43 shots, 16 of which were on target, the first year keeper withstood a Privateer barrage, tallying 12 saves on the night.
