PURCHASE, N.Y. - Tasting victory for the first time this season, the Yeshiva women's tennis team defeated Purchase College, besting the Panthers by a score of 6-3 on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Starting off slow, the Maccabees fell behind in doubles play, securing only one win and going into singles down 2-1. However, intent on downing the Panthers on their own turf, the Macs rallied in singles play, winning five of six to seize the 6-3 victory.
With all six starters contributing a point to the victory, this result marks a significant turnaround for Yeshiva from even the 2022 season, when they fell to Purchase by a score of 7-2.
With the win, the Macs are now 1-2 on the season.
