PALISADES PARK, NJ - Playing their first game in New Jersey this season, the Yeshiva baseball team fell to The City College of New York, losing to the Beavers by a score of 19-1 on Wednesday, Mar. 13.
Yeshiva's lone run came from
Adin Fischer, with the first-year player being driven in by the bat of
Noam Ouanounou.
On the mound, the Maccabees saw a stellar outing from
Jesse Rosenblum, with the Ohio native pitching three innings and only surrendering two hits and one run.
With the loss, the Macs are now 0-6 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Maccbaees struggled through the first six innings, giving up 18 runs while failing to post any in response. The Beavers scored six in the first, three in the second, five in the fourth and four in the fifth.
- Yeshiva's lone score came in the bottom of the sixth. After drawing a walk, Fischer made it to second off a single from Joshua Mintz, and to third thanks to a single from Coby Kamish. Ouanounou then secured the team's only RBI, grounding out to the pitcher but bringing Fischer home in the process, shrinking YU's margin to 18-1.
- CCNY secured one more run in the top of the seventh, a scoreline that would hold through the end of the contest.
