OLD WESTBURY, NY - Taking on their first Skyline opponent of the season, the Yeshiva baseball team fell to The College at Old Westbury in a double header, losing to the Panthers by scores of 32-1, and 20-0 on Friday, Mar. 15.
Yeshiva's lone run of the afternoon came when
Daniel Ganopolsky stomped on home plate in game one, driven in by an
Adin Fischer single to right field.
On the mound, the Maccabees saw a stellar performance out of
Jesse Rosenblum in game two. Pitching for 1.1 innings, the Cleveland native surrendered just two hits and one run while facing down nine batters.
With the losses, the Macs are now 0-8 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 1 (L, 32-1)
- The Macs struggled defensively in game one, giving up 18 hits and 32 runs over the course of seven innings. The Panthers scored five times in the first, eight times in the third, five times in the fourth, three times in the fifth, and 11 times in the sixth.
- Yeshiva's only score came in the top of the seventh. After reaching on an error and advancing to second on an Avi Cohen single, Ganopolsky took full advantage of Fischer's single, rounding third at full spring and making it home for the first time this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 2 (L, 20-0)
- Despite their best efforts, the Macs were not able to turn things around in game two, surrendering 20 runs overall - four in the first, three in the second, eight in the third, one in the fourth, and four in the fifth.
- YU were not without their chances to score. In the top of the second, a pair of singles advanced Jacob Shakin and Noam Ouanounou to first and second, yet both were left stranded following a subsequent YU strikeout and groundout.
