BRONX, NY - Taking the field for the first time in April, the Yeshiva softball team dropped a pair of games against John Jay, falling to the Bloodhounds by scores of 33-0 and 13-0 on Monday, Apr. 1.

Offensively, the Maccabees saw a hit each from
Shayna Kahane and
Kyra Appel.

With the loss, the Macs are now 0-14, 0-4 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 1 (L, 33-0)
- YU struggled in game one, allowing 17 runs in the first inning, eight in the second, five in the third, and three in the fourth.

- Yeshiva's best chance to score came in the top of the fifth, when Yael Genaur and Kahane reached first and second respectively with just one out. However, a strikeout and a groundout ended the inning, leaving both runners stranded.

HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 2 (L, 13-0)
- The Maccabee defensive unit fared much better in game two compared to game one, allowing 20 fewer runs in the second outing of the day. Much of this success can be credited to the stellar pitching of Shira Sredni, with the sophomore tossing a full game and facing down 33 batters.

- YU was not without the chance to put up points of its own. In the top of the fifth, Appel singled up the middle and then stole second, yet was left stranded after a Maccabee strikeout.
