NORTH ARLINGTON, NJ - Playing at home for the first time in over a month, the Yeshiva Men's Soccer Team fell to St. Joseph's University Long Island, losing to the Golden Eagles by a score of 4-0 on Sunday, Oct. 19th.
Offensively, the Maccabees were led by the Lavinsky brothers, with
Hadar Lavinsky and
Barel Lavinsky tallying YU's two shots on goal.
With the result, the Macs fall to 1-5-4, 1-3-4 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both squads were held scoreless through the first 38 minutes of play, with the Maccabees managing two shots over that time. However, in the 39th minute, SJLI broke through, sneaking a ball past keeper Aiden Zrihen to go up, 1-0. Despite a slew of fouls and cards to close out the half, this scoreline would hold into the break.
- Yeshiva's deficit would only grow in the second half, with the Golden Eagles scoring three more times throughout the 45 minute period. Over that same stretch, YU would put up just two shots, one in the 50th minute, and one in the 78th minute. The Maccabee attack could not match SJLI's firepower, ultimately losing, 4-0.
