NEW YORK, NY - Kicking off a two-game home stint, the Yeshiva Women's Volleyball Team fell to Sarah Lawrence College, losing to the Gryphons by a score of 3-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 22nd.
Offensively, the Maccabees were led by
Progress Gasa, with the graduate student recording five kills on the night.
On the defensive side of the ball,
Eden Fitoussi had herself another solid outing at the net, swatting down two blocks.
With the result the Macs are now 2-9, 0-6 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Yeshiva took an early lead to kick off the first set, going up 2-1 off a kill from Elle Ohayon. However, that advantage was quickly erased, with Sarah Lawrence jumping out to a 14-4 lead. From there, despite kills from Gasa and Sasha Aaron driving YU's point total into the double digits, the Macs could not regain control of the period, falling by a score of 25-10.
- The Maccabees struggled in set two. The women in blue and white only managed two kills, seeing the Gryphons take a 25-6 win.
- YU showed signs of rebounding in the third, keeping the set close through the first 26 serves and trailing by just four points at 15-11. Despite this early fight, the Macs would be held without a point for the rest of the period, ultimately losing the set, 25-11.
