PURCHASE, NY - Playing in their penultimate road game of the season, the Yeshiva Women's Volleyball Team fell to Manhattanville University, losing to the Valiant by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 28th.
 
Offensively, the Maccabees were led by Elle Ohayon and Shany Elmaleh, with Ohayon tallying five kills while Elmaleh notched eight assists.
 
On the defensive side of the ball, Emma Lieber showed out for YU, posting a personal best 15 digs on the night.
 
With the result, the Macs are now 2-11, 0-8 in conference play.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Maccabees struggled in set one, managing just three kills and dropping the period, 25-9.
   
• Yeshiva's luck did not change in the second set. Despite kills from Eden Fitoussi, Noa Benhamo, and Ohayon, the Macs' point total did not break double digits, falling by a score of 25-9.
   
• YU's offense finally came to life in set number three. The Macs went blow for blow with the high-powered Valiant attack, seeing the score tied at 4-4 through eight serves. While two straight Manhattanville points gave the home team a bit of breathing room, the Macs were never far behind, not allowing Manhattanville more than a five point lead, and eventually closing within two at 18-16. However, despite YU's persistent efforts, the women in blue and white simply could not match Manhattanville's output. Yeshiva was held to just two more points, ultimately losing the set, 25-18.
