HOW IT HAPPENED
- Set one started slow for the Macs, as they struggled to find their rhythm early against Manhattanville, falling behind after a series of service and attack errors. Giving the Valiants a quick 7-1 lead. Yeshiva was able to fight back, finding some light by capitalizing on Valiant errors as well as kills from Osen, bringing the score to 15-10. Manhattanville continued to fight with aggressive serving and strong offensive plays working to extend their lead. Despite efforts from Shklyar and Trabelsi who combined for a block, Yeshiva could not overcome the deficit. Rubin worked hard in the back row but could not fend off the relentless Valiant attack. Yeshiva ended up dropping set one by a score of 25-16.
- To begin set two, the Valiants once again racked up service aces giving them a quick 7-2 lead. But Yeshiva would not back down as Werta and Osen would have back-to-back kills cutting their deficit to three. Once again, the Valiants attacked going on another run of 11 unanswered points bringing the score to 18-4. Yeshiva tried to turn the tide with a timeout, but Manhattanville's momentum never wavered.
