BRONX, NY - Returning to conference play, the Yeshiva Baseball Team fell to the University of Mount Saint Vincent, dropping a doubleheader to the Dolphins by scores of 19-1 and 12-1 on Sunday, Mar. 23rd.
The Maccabees were led by
Jake Arnow, with the sophomore catcher tallying two hits and an RBI over the pair of contests.
With the result, the Macs are now 0-11, 0-6 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 1 (L, 19-1)
- The Maccabees drew first blood, taking an early 1-0 lead when an Arnow double drove in Coby Kamish.
- However, this would prove YU's only run of game one. The Macs only managed one more baserunner through the next five innings, when Assaf Perl smacked a single to the shortstop in the top of the fifth.
- Yeshiva's best chance to score again came in the seventh. Pinch-running for Jacob Canner, Lior Bongart advanced to second on a passed ball, and then stole third with just one out. Unfortunately, a double play not only left him stranded, but ended the game.
- YU's pitching staff experienced similar hardships, conceding 11 runs in the first, one run in the fourth, and seven runs in the sixth.

- However, the YU defense could not keep the Dolphin bats in check, surrendering two runs in the first, six runs in the second, and four runs in the third.
