KINGS POINT, NY - Closing out their March conference schedule, the Yeshiva Baseball Team fell to the United States Merchant Marine Academy, dropping a double-header to the Mariners by scores of 16-1 and 17-1 on Sunday, Mar. 30th.
The Maccabees were led by the duo of
Coby Kamish and
Moshe Garson, with Kamish tallying one run and three stolen bases in game one, and Garson notching one run, one hit and two stolen bases in game two.
With the results, the Macs are now 0-15, 0-10 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED - (L, 16-1)
- Yeshiva's offense found moderate success in both the second and fifth innings. In the second, the Macs put runners on first and second before a groundout ended the inning, while in the fifth, YU stranded Lior Bongart on third.
- The Maccabees finally broke through in the sixth. After drawing a walk and stealing both second and third, Kamish scored on a Jacob Canner groundout, notching YU's lone run of the game.
- Unfortunately, the score was not enough to match USMMA's, with the Mariners tallying one run in the first inning, three in the second, three in the third, seven in the fifth, and two in the sixth, resulting in the Macs ultimately losing, 16-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED - (L, 17-1)
- The Maccabee offense struggled early on, not managing to register a baserunner until the fourth inning when Jake Arnow reached on an error. Yeshiva's run came in the top of the sixth, when Garson came home on an Arnow groundout.
- Yeshiva's pitching unit did not fare much better, surrendering two runs in the first inning, six runs in the third, three runs in the fourth, four runs in the fifth, and two runs in the sixth.
- Three straight strikeouts in the top of the seventh ended the day for YU, with the Macs falling, 17-1.
