NEW YORK, NY - Max Zakheim has been named the winner of the Red Sarachek Memorial Award, as announced at the Yeshiva Athletics Banquet.
Â
The award is presented annually to the men's basketball player who best demonstrates the teamwork, dedication and selflessness associated with the former YU coach, and Inaugural Class Hall of Famer, Bernard "Red" Sarachek.
Â
Zakheim had a stellar season for the Maccabees, starting all 27 games he appeared in this season, averaging 14.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists in the process. His efforts have earned him a spot in YU history, locking down not only a Second-Team All-Conference selection, but also becoming just the 33rd member of the Yeshiva Men's Basketball 1,000-Point Club.
