SWARTHMORE, PA - Taking the pitch for the first time in the 2025 season, the Yeshiva Men's Soccer Team fell at Swarthmore College, losing to the Garnet by a score of 4-0 on Friday, Aug. 29th.
Offensively, YU's lone shot on goal came off the right foot of
Hadar Lavinsky near the end of the second half.
On the defensive side, rookie
Abraham Gabay led the Macs in saves, tallying four in his Yeshiva debut.
With the loss, the Macs are now 0-1 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite early pressure from the Macs, Swarthmore struck first, going up 1-0 in the 11th minute.
- The Garnet extended their lead 15 minutes later, going up 2-0, a scoreline that would last into halftime.
- Out of the break, Swarthmore quickly grew their edge to three, sneaking a ball past Gabay just over a minute into the second half.
- Swat's fourth and final goal came in the 60th minute, ticking YU's deficit up to four at 4-0.
- Yeshiva's best chance to score came in the 87th minute, when H Lavinsky lasered a shot at the bottom left-hand corner of the goal. However, the effort was turned away.
