PURCHASE, NY - Avenging a loss from last season, the Yeshiva Women's Tennis Team took down Purchase College, defeating the Panthers by a score of 5-2 on Wednesday, Sept. 10th.
Yeshiva came out of the gate swinging in doubles, taking all three matches and carrying a 1-0 advantage into singles play. While YU found stiffer resistance in singles, the Maccabees still prevailed, coming out on top in four of six matches to win, 5-2.
With the result, the Macs are now 3-1, 2-1 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Singles:
- Yeshiva's momentum did not dissipate in singles play, with Mimoun (6-2, 3-6, 10-3), Laufer (6-4, 6-2), Schewitz (6-0, 6-1) and Gabrielle Resnick (6-3, 6-2) all taking wins.
- The Macs did suffer a pair of losses, with Pollock and Grunseid falling in the No. 1 and No. 4 matches respectively.
- However, despite the stumble, YU's hold on the dual match proved too much for Purchase to overcome, with the Maccabees coming home sporting a 5-2 victory.
