NEW YORK, NY - Emerging as the only undefeated team in Skyline play, the Yeshiva Men's Basketball Team took down the previously 7-0 Farmingdale State College, defeating the Rams by a score of 84-60 on Saturday, Jan. 24th.
 
The Maccabees were led on both sides of the ball by a breakout performance from rookie sensation Yair Dovrat, with the 6-7 guard putting up an impressive statline of 22 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, two steals, and one block.
 
With the result, the Macs are now 10-8, 9-0 in conference play.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Yeshiva came out the gate fast, reaching a 10-point lead at 15-5 less than five minutes into the contest. Not taking their foot off the gas, the Macs continued to grow their advantage, relying on stellar shooting from Dovrat, Dothan Bardichev, Yoav Oselka, and Zevi Samet to go up by as many as 17 points at 28-11 with 10:29 remaining.
   
• While Farmingdale pushed back over the final 10 minutes, shrinking YU's edge back down into the single digits, the Maccabees still carried a comfortable 36-27 lead into the break.
   
• YU's advantage held steady through the first five minutes of the second half, with the men in blue and white up by nine at 45-36. From there however, the Macs quickly seized control. Catalyzed by back-to-back Dovrat threes, Yeshiva's lead surged out to 28 points at 74-46 with 6:04 left on the clock. YU's margin held steady as the final minutes ticked away, locking in their status as the unquestioned top team in the conference with a resounding 84-60 victory.
