PARAMUS, NJ - Still looking for their first conference win, the Yeshiva Men's Soccer Team fell to St. Joseph's University Brooklyn, losing to the Bears by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday, Oct. 14th.
Offensively, the Maccabees were led by
Franco Busso, with the senior captain tallying both of YU's goals.
With the result, the Macs are now 3-4-4, 0-4-3 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Yeshiva opened the scoring early, going up 1-0 in just the 14th minute when Busso capitalized on a beautiful long ball from Joaquin Merjaver.
- Busso continued to find the back of the net just nine minutes later, putting the Macs ahead 2-0 after converting a penalty. This scoreline would hold into the break.
- Unfortunately, Yeshiva would see their lead slip away in the second half. The Bears scored three times over 45 minutes, while the Maccabees could not find paydirt. The Macs were not without their chances, tallying eight shots in the period, but were held without a goal. When the final buzzer sounded, YU had fallen, 3-2.
