NEW YORK, NY - Taking on their final non-Skyline foe of the year, the Yeshiva Men's Soccer team tied Hunter college, drawing even with the Hawks by a score of 4-4 on Thursday, Oct. 8th.
The Maccabees were led by the duo of
Franco Busso and
Uri Aron. Both men scored two goals on the night, with Busso tacking on an assist.
With the result, the Macs are now 3-3-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hunter opened the scoring early, finding the back of the net in the 14th minute to put the Macs in a 1-0 hole.
- Yeshiva responded in kind just over ten minutes later, with Busso tallying his first goal of the night in the 25th minute to tie the game at 1-all. Building on this momentum, Aron gave the Macs the lead in the 38th minute with a score of his own, a 2-1 scoreline that would last into the break.
- Down but not out, Hunter responded forcefully to kick off the second half, scoring three times in 10 minutes to go up, 3-2.
- A team used to adversity however, the Maccabees weathered the storm. Busso found paydirt once again in the 64th minute, while Aron did the same in the 76th, leveling the field at four goals apiece.
- Both squads had chances to break the deadlock in the final 15 minutes, but none of the attempts managed to find their target. When the final horn sounded, the score stood at 4-4.
