HOBOKEN, NJ - Continuing in MACFA play, the Yeshiva Men's Fencing Team competed in the MACFA Group B Round Robin on Sunday, Feb. 8th.
The Maccabees faced off against four teams, crossing swords with: the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Army, Hunter College, and Stevens Institute of Technology.
With the results, the Macs are now 0-22 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Yeshiva started the day against NJIT, falling to the Highlanders by a score of 26-1.
- The Maccabees rebounded in round two, battling Army to a close 14-13 loss. YU came out on top 7-2 in foil thanks to bout wins from Samuel Wallach, Judah Greenbaum, and Aden Lyons, but fell in both epee and sabre.
- Yeshiva continued to fight hard against Hunter, falling to the Hawks, 14-13. The Maccabees were powered to a 7-2 win this time in sabre, seeing excellent swordplay from Avy Nakache-Habib, Henry Wildes, and Eitan Nissel.
- YU closed out the day against the host school, falling to Stevens, 23-4.
