PATCHOGUE, NY - Facing off against a Skyline opponent for the first time in the 2026 season, the Yeshiva Baseball Team dropped a double header to St. Joseph's University Long Island, losing to the Golden Eagles by scores of 14-0 and 10-0 on Sunday, Mar. 15th.

The Maccabees were led by the trio of
RJ Hellman,
Jake Arnow, and
Assaf Perl, with all three players registering a hit for YU.

With the result, the Macs are now 0-7, 0-2 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 1 (L, 14-0)
- The Maccabees got off to a promising start in the top of the first inning, with Arnow reaching second after a single and a steal. Noah Steinmetz joined his teammate on base after getting hit by a pitch, but a fielder's choice ball from Josh Paskoff closed out the inning with runners stranded on the corners.

- Yeshiva managed their second and final hit of the contest in the third, with Hellman singling to right and then making it to second on a steal. Unfortunately, two straight strikeouts left him stranded.

- SJLI was able to capitalize on YU's struggles, scoring three runs in the second, two in the fourth, five in the fifth, and four in the sixth.

HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 2 (L, 10-0)
- Yeshiva struggled in game two, managing just three baserunners. Bongart walked on four balls in the third, but was thrown out trying to steal second. Perl singled to left field in the sixth, advancing Bongart to third who had secured another walk. However, two straight pop-ups ended the inning, stranding both runners.

- The Golden Eagles found success, putting up five runs in the first, one in the fifth, and four in the sixth.
