NEW YORK, NY - Men's Basketball's Zevi Samet has been named D3hoops.com Region 3 Player of the Year, as well as to the Region 3 All Region First-Team, as announced Monday, Mar. 16th.

Samet has earned the honors after a season full of both team and individual success. Averaging 23.8 points on .487 shooting, including .408 from beyond the arc, the Monsey Mamba led the Maccabees to their second straight conference title with a perfect 16-0 record in conference play, making it to the Sweet 16 of the DIII NCAA Tournament for just the second time in program history.
 
Samet is no stranger to awards, having been named Skyline Player of the Year, Skyline All Conference First-Team, Bevo Francis Top 25 Watch List, Trevor Hudgins Top 15 Watch List, 4x Skyline Player of the Week, MBWA Divs. II/III Player of the Week, D3hoops.com Team of the Week, and USBWA Player of the Week.
 
With his selection as Region 3 Player of the Year, Samet is now eligible for D3hoops.com All-American consideration.
