PATCHOGUE, NY - Playing their final doubleheader of the 2026 season, the Yeshiva Men's Volleyball Team fell to St. Joseph's University Long Island, losing both games to the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-0 on Thursday, Mar. 19th.
The Maccabees were led by
Mateusz Karpow, with the 6-9 junior putting up 15 kills and two blocks across the pair of contests.
With the result, the Macs are now 2-15, 0-9 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 1 (L, 3-0)
- Yeshiva struggled in the first set, only managing one kill and putting up seven points, losing the period, 25-7.
- The Maccabees improved in set two, with kills from Karpow and Alex Kirievsky pushing the teams' point total into the double digits. However, the effort was not enough to overtake the Golden Eagles, falling by a score of 25-11.
- The third set proved the most competitive of the three, with the Macs jumping out to an early 9-7 leadbehind six kills from the trio of Karpow, Kirievsky, and Amiti Trabelsi. Unfortunately, SJLI would rally, taking back the advantage at 11-10 before roaring out to a 21-12 margin. Yeshiva tallied just three more points, ultimately dropping set, 25-15, and the match, 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 2 (L, 3-0)
- Despite keeping the contest close through the first seven serves, trailing at just 4-3, the first set quickly shot out of reach for the Macs. The men in blue and white scored just four more times, falling by a score of 25-7.
- Yeshiva struggled in the second set, managing only three points and falling 25-3.
- Much like in game one, the third set proved the most competitive of the three. While the Maccabees fell behind early at 10-3, the YU attack found their rhythm, pushing their point total into the double digits behind kills from Trabelsi, Karpow, and Kirievsky. Unfortunately, that effort fell short, as the Macs ultimately dropped the set, 25-13, and the match, 3-0.
