Softball Falls to Brooklyn

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Playing their second doubleheader in less than 24 hours, the Yeshiva Softball Team fell to Brooklyn College, losing to the Bulldogs by scores of 17-1 and 20-2 on Friday, Mar. 20th.
 
In game one the Maccabees were led by Simone Amkraut, with the second-year player tallying two hits and a run. In game two, Layla Hellman stepped up, notching two hits on three at-bats.
 
With the result, the Macs are now 0-9 on the year.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 1 (L, 17-1)
  • Yeshiva put up four hits throughout their first game, with Amkraut notching two while Galit Roth and Shira Pfeiffer each managed one a piece.
     
  • This production translated into a run in the bottom of the second inning. After reaching on a single and advancing to second on another hit, Amkraut scored on a throwing error, putting YU on the board.
     
  • Unfortunately, this would prove Yeshiva's only run of the contest, while Brooklyn tallied 12 in the first, five in the second, and three in the third.

HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 2 (L, 20-2)
  • The Maccabee bats continued to produce at a consistent clip in game two, tallying four hits and two runs. Those scores both came in the bottom of the third, when Elisheva Trapedo and Maya Dennen each stomped on home plate.
     
  • However, the Macs would be held scoreless otherwise, while the Bulldogs put up 12 runs in the first inning, five in the second, and three in the third.
